POS keyboard shortcuts
▶ Watch — ring a sale using only the keyboard
Cashiers who learn the hotkeys ring sales in a fraction of the time — no reaching for the mouse.
The shortcuts
| Key | What it does |

| F2 | Search items by name and add one to the cart |
| F3 | Edit the quantity of the selected line |
| F4 | Add or edit a discount on the selected line |
| F5 | Attach a customer to the sale |
| F6 | Hold the order to come back to later |
| F7 | Open held orders |
| F8 | Charge — open payment and take the money |
| F9 | Cash in / out on the register |
| Del | Remove the selected cart line |
| Esc | Close the open dialog and go back to the scanner |
| ? | Show or hide the shortcut cheat-sheet |
If no line is selected, F3 and F4 work on the item you added last. The F-keys, Esc, and ? work even while your cursor is in a field; Del only removes a cart line when you aren't typing.
TIP
On a Mac, hold Fn with the F-keys (or turn on "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" in System Settings → Keyboard).
The shortcut bar under the cart lists the most-used keys. Click it, or press ?, to open the full list.
